50 awarded scholarship

A private school in Kenema, Sierra International Academy (SIA) has with support from a Community Based Organization, World Institute for Sustainable Humanity (AWISH) Sierra Leone provided three years scholarships to fifty (50) pupils considered as ebola orphans, ebola survivors and street children.
In his statement, the proprietor of Sierra International Academy, Alpha Beretay said the move was part of activities of the school to mark its first anniversary since its inception in 2015.
He said the three-year scholarship scheme will cater for the tuition fees and the provision of other learning materials of the targeted beneficiaries. He disclosed that the beneficiaries were selected by the school authorities in consultation with the Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs (MSWGCA) and other relevant authorities in the city.
