More than a billion people on a wider perspective suffer from chronic malnutrition and hunger. In spite of official pledges to halve the world's hungry, the trend now runs in the opposite direction. More than thirty million people die of malnutrition and starvation every year - nearly 100,000 every day.

NutriCare Sierra Leone Program is established as an umbrella micro program under Child Health Care and Development Foundation registered with line ministries here to stay and partner with community heads, women and religious heads in local commodities to work together and draw a road map to help gradually address the problems on hunger in the respective communities where we work through the inclusion of local women dealing in the area of domestic consumers goods on daily basis since. Women in small communities, commands75% of the gross domestic productssuch as appropriate fresh and non-preservative vegetables food chain that we though fit healthy for livelihood of especially school going children and also for  feeding our communities appropriately to avoid reliance on imported food which levied high cost on the citizens and also serves as a catalyst for hunger and starvation in respective communities.

Therefore, Sierra Leone is not an exception amongst the problems outlined above. NutriCare Sierra Leone works in partnership with local communities to be ableto address the problems that often associated with food and allied hunger in communities as a result of war and natural disasters.

Relieffoodis coordinated by the United Nations only on emergency basis, with the World Food Program as the top provider, actually the system accomplishes muchin recent years. But it falls tragically short, at a time of current rising need. Because donor food assistance often arrives too little and too late and end up in market places for cash. Donor countries often agree to help, but they also prefers to dump subsidized and preserved agricultural surpluses, that ends up damaging small local producers in recipient  countries depriving them in earning their daily income due to the call for mechanise farming which costs are not affordable for the local producers.
