MSF to Deliver Free medical for 3 years in Koinadugu

The Koinadugu District field Coordinator for Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), Ana Zamacona, has revealed that they will deliver free medical services for pregnant women and children from ages zero to twelve (0-12). The project has duration of 3 years.
She disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Awoko Newspaper when they were officially starting full medical activities at the Government Hospital in Kabala, the district headquarter of Koinadugu, north of Sierra Leone.
The Field Coordinator, Ana Zamacona, said they went to Kabala in January and started reinforcing the hospital triage and IPC, cleaning of wards, waste supervision and management, working on water supply and electricity, among others. She said MSF decision to support the maternity section of the hospital was as a result of the high rate of maternal and infant mortality in the district been the biggest with 72 Peripheral Health Units (PHU’s) with dispatch population.
