Development Initiative Programme (DIP) Capacitates Ebola Orphans and Survivors

The Development Initiative Programme (DIP) has on Saturday 5th March, 2016 through support from TERRA Tech, a German donor, ended a three day distribution of startup kits to Ebola survivors, orphans and vulnerable children of thirteen communities across Freetown and its environs.

According to the organizers, they said the aid would enhance the capacity and resilience of Ebola affected communities, and mitigate the negative impact of Ebola in the targeted communities.

The thirteen communities that were targeted are Mabella, Susan’s Bay, Kroo Bay, Dwzark, Mallama, Allen Town, Kuntullo and Rokupa in the Western Area Urban and Campbell Town, Ibo Town, Rogbangba, Jui and Grafton in the Western Area Rural.

Making a statement at the distribution ceremony, the National President, Sierra Leone Ebola Survivors, Yusuf Kabbah said they had met with several organisations that pretended to be good at first sight, but however at the end they turned out to be fraudulent.  “As survivors, we survived for a reason”, he said, and however cautioned colleagues to be appreciative of what they have received. He urged them to make good use of what was given to them.
