Primary tabs

Members of the national committee for the West Africa Power Pool (WAPP) Project to be implemented by TRANSCO Energy discussed the state of implementation of the project.
Held at its Freetown, Headquarter along Sir Samuel Lewis road, members of the national monitoring committee met to discuss major recommendations from the last session held in December, regarding the WAPP project.

According to the TRANSCO CLSG, Environmental Coordinator, Pakidame Kolani, TRANSCO together with the national monitoring committee will follow all protocols on environmental impact before, during and after the completion of the four Mano River Countries, interconnectivity energy transmission network.

As an environmentalist, Mr Kolani disclosed that during the implementation process there will be both negative and positive impact on the environment, and TRANSCO together with all stakeholders wants to make sure that the negative impact be mitigated in communities that will be affected.
