Re: Renewable electricity - Not Even He Can Mess This Up

Jeff,

Thank you. I agree in general with the points made by the Director of the Sierra Club that renewables have significant momentum now on the basis of being far better fuel stock for the U.S. energy system at this time. Unfortunately. Trump’s choices of Rick Perry to run DOE, Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State, Mike Pence for Vice President, Jeff Sessions for Attorney General, and Scott Pruitt to run EPA is a bit like hiring the owners of the mortuaries in town to run the departments of a hospital. The outcomes are not likely to improve given their predilections.

Today, we find out if the Governor’s Office in New York is serious about Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) in Long Island. Luckily, constructive local and state progress on renewables cannot be significantly impacted by the federal government. That said, I expect this band of cannibals at the federal level to do as much damage as they can to the emerging green political economy, if the American public allows them to. There are times in which the American public will advance far quicker than the Federal government. In those times, the Federal government will be forced to get out of the way and follow the will of the people.

Mike
