The handwriting is on the wall.  Now is the time to start the move to shut down Turkey Point, and ensure FL, New York, the National Capital Region and other states have open renewable energy markets.  Otherwise, the existing utility monopolies will simply ensure that better, cheaper more resilience distributed collectively intelligent renewable energy will not enable more equitable circular economies from emerging.

Utility company says it will be four times larger than any existing battery

Florida Power & Light said it plans to build the world’s largest battery, which would collect electricity from solar panels during the day and discharge it as needed during periods of high power demand.

FPL, a utility that serves large portions of Florida and is a unit of NextEra Energy Inc. said it expects the battery—planned for a location in Manatee County on the state’s Gulf Coast—to be operational by 2021.
