African health official: Ebola in Uganda is under control KAMPALA, Uganda (AP) — Uganda's Ebola outbreak is under control, a top public health official in Africa said Thursday, noting that local health authorities are doing well to trace most contacts. “The situation is not getting out of control,” said Dr. AP NEWS

“The situation is not getting out of control,” said Dr. Ahmed Ogwell, acting director of the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “We have good visibility of all the contacts.”

Uganda Ebola cases jump to 50, with 1 more death Officials add 14 more cases to the total, and the fatality count rises to 24, as officials weigh starting a vaccine trial in the country. CIDRAP

The number of people infected in Uganda's Ebola Sudan outbreak jumped to 50 today, with 14 more cases added to the total, the World Health Organization (WHO) African region said today on Twitter.

One more person died, raising the fatality count to 24.
